The Price of Awakening
She looked me in the eye and said it as if it meant nothing.
Just like that, my world caved in — not from losing twenty-five thousand dollars, but from losing the trust I thought was unbreakable. In one sentence, the sister I believed would stand beside me forever became a stranger.
