Girls Visit Dad’s Grave to ‘Show’ Their New Dresses as He Asked, See 2 Boxes with Their Names – Story of the Day

Posted on November 28, 2025 by Aleena Irshad

Isla, 6, and Madison, 8, missed their daddy more than anyone knew. After Brian passed from cancer, the laughter in their home faded. Linda, still shattered by losing her husband, couldn’t bring herself to visit his grave.

But the girls remembered something she didn’t:
Brian’s dying wish.
“On my birthday, I want my girls to look their prettiest and come show me their beautiful outfits,” he had told them the night before he died.

So the day before his birthday, they begged Linda to take them shopping. Hearing their small voices talk about making Daddy proud broke her heart. She finally agreed.

The next morning, dressed in their new outfits, the girls walked hand in hand to Brian’s grave. Linda followed, trembling.

Then they saw them —
two beautifully wrapped boxes sitting by his gravestone, each with their names and a tiny sticker that said From Daddy.

“Mommy! Daddy sent us gifts!” Isla giggled.

Madison knew the truth. But she didn’t say a word.

Inside each box was a pair of pretty Mary Janes… and a letter from Brian. In it, he told them they were the most beautiful girls heaven had ever seen, that he was watching over them, and that he wanted them to laugh, be silly, and even sneak cookies again.

For the first time since his death, Madison cried. Linda quietly wiped her own tears.

Love doesn’t end — not even with death.
And on his birthday, Brian still found a way to take care of his girls.
