I Refused to Share My Son’s Inheritance — Am I a “Bad Mother”?

Posted on October 28, 2025 by Aleena Irshad

Harper faced a dilemma when her 15-year-old son from her first marriage inherited $300,000 from his late father, which she manages until he’s 18. Her husband, father to her 12-year-old son from her second marriage, demanded some of the money for their younger son’s education. Harper refused, prioritizing her older son’s

inheritance. Her husband accused her of favoring the “rich kid” over the “poor kid.” The next day, Harper returned to a silent home, discovering her younger son’s and husband’s belongings gone. A note from her husband confirmed they left to “teach her a lesson,” leaving Harper devastated and questioning if she was a bad mother for trying to be fair.
